The Republic of San Marino, a small European country with a populace of a little more than 33,000, recently declared the acceptance of VeChain’s NFT-based vaccination passport Under the ‘Declaration Law No. 109 of 16 June’, which empowers the rollout of a worldwide accessible vaccination passport named the “San Marino Digital Covid Certificate.”
The association incorporates joint effort with DNV — which will give digital affirmation over the venture.
The digital vaccination certificate has been issued upon demand from certified facilities by the health authorities of San Marino. By attaching the covide-related clinical history of an individual to an eNFT (Enterprise Non-Fungible Token), the data gets recorded on the VeChainThor public blockchain.
Together with @DNV_Assurance, we hereby announce the world's first national level #eNFT adoption:

About eNFT vaccination certificate
The San Marino Digital Covid Certificate covers past infections, vaccination against Sars-Cov2, or negative test results and provides digital vaccination certificates. The certificate has a legitimacy of one week, beginning 15 days after the very first vaccination dose or nine months from the finished vaccination cycle. On a personal request by an individual, the certificate is issued in a digital format or paper. The certificate is provided by certain facilities approved by the health authorities of San Marino or ISS.
2 QR codes. The 1st is aligned with EU standards/Green Certificate. The second QR code is a built-in NFT for connecting countries, guaranteeing interoperability, integrity and validity of data. Along @DNV_Assurance we think different, we think big. $VET #VeChain https://t.co/dzlPPO4Boi

The digital certificate comprises two QR codes that can be examined to get to the Covid-related clinical history of any individual. The two codes are:
- The principal code is in accordance with the standards and conditions set by the European Union and can be validated by selected member entities and states.
- The second QR code can be validated by anybody and at any place. Filtering this QR code with any device gives direct admittance to a web application in which the legitimacy of the certificate can be checked. This is empowered by connecting to a Non-Fungible Token (NFT). This means it is a non-repeatable certificate with one-of-a-kind digital validity ensuring openness and changelessness by being enrolled under VeChainThor public blockchain.
The Global Director of Growth and Innovation in DNV, Renato Grottola, said that The utilization of blockchain innovation of VeChain and NFTs makes it conceivable to expand trust in the authenticity of the data provided in the E-certificate. This decreases the chances of falsifying.
Conclusion
This is not the first time that VeChain has proposed blockchain-based solutions in light of the worldwide pandemic. VeChain is one of the leading public blockchain platforms in the world, and DNV is an independent pioneer in the development of digital assurance solutions and assessment services. This flexible arrangement allows possible inspection of green passes even outside of the European Union.
