Accenture is expanding its reach in the field of generative AI by setting up GenAI studios in nine countries across Asia Pacific and Latin America. These studios will play a pivotal role in addressing the growing interest of clients in this transformative technology.
The new GenAI studios will be strategically located in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Greater China, India, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, and Singapore. These locations have been chosen to facilitate easy access for clients and to foster collaboration with data and AI experts from Accenture, along with ecosystem partners, ventures, and other strategic investments.
One of the key goals of these studios is to enable rapid experimentation and co-creation of generative AI solutions, all while adhering to Accenture’s responsible AI framework. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to bring generative AI solutions to life and provide clients with innovative tools and strategies to reinvent their businesses responsibly.
The timeline for the operational launch of these studios is set for January 2024, with the exception of Argentina and Mexico, which are expected to join the network later in the year. Each studio will cater to a diverse range of industry and functional needs, specializing in areas such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, public sector, manufacturing, renewable energy, chemicals, and mining.
Accenture’s investment in data and AI stands at an impressive $3 billion, and this expansion is a testament to the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation. In addition to the GenAI studios, Accenture has recently introduced specialized services to assist clients in building their own large language models customized to meet their specific business requirements.
Leo Framil, CEO of Accenture Growth Markets, emphasized the importance of these studios by stating, “Clients today are ready to move beyond proof of concepts and into production to tackle more complex business problems across their value chain. They also recognize that generative AI introduces new, unique risks that need consideration and mitigation. Drawing on our experience of client conversations, existing projects, our rich talent, and industry partnerships, our generative AI Studios will provide enterprises with the best ideas and capabilities to shape tailor-made solutions and help them reinvent their business responsibly.”
According to a recent survey by Accenture, a significant portion of C-suite executives in Asia Pacific and Latin America plan to increase their AI-related spending in 2024. As companies shift from proof of concept to customizing foundation models with proprietary data, the demand for generative AI solutions is expected to rise.
Vivek Luthra, Data and AI lead for Accenture Growth Markets, highlighted the importance of a robust data strategy in harnessing the true potential of generative AI. He emphasized the need for a strong digital core, including a modern cloud and ERP infrastructure, along with mature data and AI capabilities. These elements, combined with the new generative AI Studios, will empower clients to build and scale AI solutions that enhance productivity and drive growth.
Accenture’s expansion of GenAI studios across the Asia Pacific and Latin America reflects the company’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its clients. By providing a platform for rapid innovation and responsible AI development, Accenture aims to help enterprises navigate the complexities of the modern business landscape and thrive in an era of digital transformation.
