Capgemini, a leading IT service provider, has recently inked a multi-year strategic collaboration agreement with AWS, a powerhouse in cloud computing. The primary objective of this partnership is to propel the adoption of generative AI solutions and technologies across organizations, regardless of their size.
In this era of technological evolution, where artificial intelligence has become an integral part of business strategies, this collaboration holds immense significance. Capgemini and AWS intend to empower clients by enabling them to harness the potential of generative AI while addressing common challenges such as cost, scalability, and trust.
Jerome Simeon, Head of Global Industries and Group Executive Board member at Capgemini, emphasized the importance of scaling AI implementations rapidly. He stated, “With generative AI presenting new opportunities to accelerate innovation, it’s imperative for clients to be able to scale their AI implementations quickly to drive tangible value, optimize investments, and meet the specific needs of their industry.”
Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Data and AI at AWS, added, “This expanded partnership with Capgemini will further democratize access to generative AI by empowering organizations to leverage AWS’s industry-leading models and capabilities, like Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q, to ignite innovation and transform their business.”
Capgemini and AWS are dedicated to making generative AI accessible to all. By leveraging AWS’s cutting-edge models and technologies, organizations can create and scale generative AI applications tailored to their specific needs, all while ensuring privacy and security.
Capgemini is committed to expanding its network of AWS Centers of Excellence (CoEs). As part of this effort, they plan to train 30,000 employees over the next three years in AWS’s advanced technologies. This aligns with Capgemini’s substantial €2 billion investment in Artificial Intelligence.
The collaboration aims to develop industry-specific solutions, assets, and accelerators. These customized capabilities will cater to diverse sectors, including aerospace, automotive, and financial services. For instance, in aerospace, the focus is on enhancing image recognition and analysis of aviation parts.
A unique platform will optimize the TCO of generative AI production costs. By efficiently using large language models provided as part of Amazon Bedrock, clients can achieve cost savings while implementing generative AI solutions.
Capgemini’s digital cloud platform will incorporate Amazon CodeWhisperer and Amazon Bedrock. This integration will enhance efficiency and quality across the software development life cycle, making it faster and more secure.
This strategic partnership between Capgemini and AWS has already earned recognition, with Capgemini receiving the prestigious AWS Global Partner of the Year 2023 for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML). Their joint efforts, particularly in developing the Lifecycle Optimization for Aerospace platform, have showcased their commitment to innovation and excellence.
The collaboration between Capgemini and AWS represents a significant stride towards democratizing generative AI and driving innovation across industries. By addressing key challenges and providing tailored solutions, this partnership is poised to transform the landscape of AI adoption worldwide.
