The packs had a retail price of 34.39 USDC each, and it is anticipated that the effort raised more than $130,000 USDC.
The NFTs of the Ripper Skipper 2022 make use of the AV to bring forth the 78 momentous events and major milestones of the last season. Three “moments”—common, deluxe, and ovation—are included in each pack, each of which comes in a distinct rarity category.
Anyone who participated in the initial drop of limited edition digital content has a 10% chance of winning an AFL Mint Genesis Ball.
The original mint sold out in a matter of hours; a second drop will be available to the general public on August 24.
AFL’s Metaverse Roadmap
AFL Mint has plans to build on the idea and offer game day events, tickets, and the ability to meet footballers in the Metaverse. NFTs are virtual certificates stored on the blockchain that prove the title of a digital or physical item, frequently an artwork.
According to Kylie Rogers, EGM of customer and commercial at the AFL, they seek to improve fan experiences through technology.
Through our AFL Mint brand, we will introduce thrilling new moments in both our men’s and women’s tournaments, as well as honour former greats and produce additional products that will bring a novel fan experience we have never seen before.
The AFL announced in April that their NFT marketplace, AFL Mint, has signed a five-year partnership with Be Media, a Perth-based division of Hong Kong’s leading NFT gaming company, Animoca Brands.
Reportedly, in 2023, the enthusiasts and sports fans holding the collection will be able to trade these NFTs.
