The CEO of IBM, Arvind Krishna, believes that the future of work is about humans and artificial intelligence (AI) working together, not against each other. In an interview, Krishna spoke about the importance of preparing the workforce for a future where AI plays a central role.
Krishna believes that AI can be a powerful tool to augment human capabilities and make our lives easier. However, he also acknowledges that there are concerns about the impact of AI on the workforce and that there is a need to ensure that people are not left behind.
“The most important thing we can do is to prepare our workforce for this change,” Krishna said. “We need to make sure that people have the skills they need to work effectively with AI and that they are not left behind by the changes that are taking place.”
To this end, IBM has been investing heavily in skills training and development programs. The company has launched a number of initiatives aimed at equipping employees with the skills they need to work effectively with AI. These initiatives include online training programs, boot camps, and partnerships with educational institutions.

“We need to make sure that AI is used in a way that is transparent and accountable and that it is aligned with the values of society,” Krishna said. “This means taking a responsible approach to the development and deployment of AI and ensuring that it is used in a way that benefits everyone.”
Krishna’s vision of a future where humans and AI work hand-in-hand is not just about preparing the workforce for the changes that are taking place. It is also about leveraging the power of AI to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing society.
“AI has the potential to help us solve some of the biggest problems facing society, from climate change to healthcare,” Krishna said. “But to realize this potential, we need to make sure that we are working together, as humans and as machines.”
