Samsung is set to revolutionize the mobile landscape once again with its latest announcement: the rollout of the highly anticipated One UI 6.1 update. This update brings a plethora of cutting-edge features, including the integration of Galaxy AI technology, to select flagship devices from 2023, such as the Galaxy S23 and Fold5.
One of the standout features of One UI 6.1 is the introduction of Galaxy AI, which was previously exclusive to the S24 series. This groundbreaking technology is now making its way to a wider audience, showcasing Samsung’s commitment to democratizing mobile AI. The One UI 6.1 update introduces a host of communication-enhancing features powered by Galaxy AI. Users can now adjust message tones and translate messages in 13 different languages using Chat Assist. Live Translate enables real-time voice and text translations for phone calls, while Interpreter facilitates spontaneous conversations with locals by providing text translations in real time.
In terms of productivity, One UI 6.1 offers unparalleled efficiency through seamless integration of Galaxy AI across the ecosystem. Circle to Search with Google enhances search functions with intuitive results generated through a simple circle motion gesture. Note Assist allows users to create formats, generate summaries, and translate notes, while Browsing Assist generates comprehensive summaries of news articles, keeping users up to speed faster..
Samsung is also doubling down on creativity with Galaxy AI, providing users with tools to unleash their inner artist. Generative Edit allows for easy resizing, repositioning, or realignment of objects in photos, while Edit Suggestion streamlines the photo editing process. Instant Slow-mo generates additional frames for slow-motion videos, capturing action-packed moments effortlessly.
The rollout timeline for the One UI 6.1 update has been confirmed, with availability across the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series starting from the end of March. While the initial rollout begins in the US, users worldwide can expect to receive the update in the following weeks.
